Accounting & Office Assistant

Seeking a qualified candidate for a busy asphalt paving contractor.  Must be able to multi-task providing all aspects of office functions including strong current experience with Quickbooks Accounting, Excel, Word, Internet, Google Docs (helpful), and general accounting practices including payroll.  Also includes other general office duties answering phones scheduling appointments, etc.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Bookkeeping utilizing QuickBooks with a good understanding of accounting
  • Maintain accounting records for multiple divisions
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Monthly Bank & Credit Card reconciliations
  • Working with management to validate and create invoicing
  • Maintaining company documents, filing, scanning faxing etc.
  • Daily job costing reports
  • Tax and Payroll reporting
  • Monthly and Annual Financial Reports
  • Weekly payroll processing and updating of payroll records/employee files
  • Contact customers to schedule jobs
  • Familiar with the Metro Detroit area/sense of direction/map reading
  • Assist with phone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Work directly with Owner and Project Managers to assist with scheduling jobs
  • Represent our company in a professional and positive way
  • Job Type:  Full-time


Expected Hours:  40 per week
